Temporary capacities

We are currently accepting applications for temporary capacities (wrangler / ranch hand) from April till October 2011.

Firm knowledge in horse handling and horseback riding is required and will have to be proven before hiring.

Because the bigger portion of our guests are German or from German speaking countries such as Switzerland or Austria it's an advantage for us, if you'ld be firm in basic German.

Main duties and responsibilities:

  • Must be able to accept directions from the management

  • Ability to be flexible and act immediately as circumstances arise

  • Care and maintenance of the horses and tack (grooming, saddling, bridling, cleaning stalls, paddocks and barn area, leading guest rides)

  • Providing constructive and engaging instructions to guests in accordance with our riding program and standards

  • Feeding and basic health care of animals

  • If not already knowing he/she must learn to lead trail rides and maintain leadership of horses and guests at the corral and on the trail

  • Up keeping of guest accommodations and property

  • Ensuring rider safety - first priority!

  • Trail maintenance and general ranch chores

  • Other activities related to the overall satisfaction of our guests

  • Able to work in a team-related environment and able to think for themselves

  • Able to handle stress even in emergency situations

 

Wranglers are expected to dress in a western style and maintain neat and clean appearance at all times. Staff members are expected to keep their living area clean and picked up. Recent first aid + CPR certification must be held (not older than 1 year).

No smoking will be allowed while you are working, in any of the buildings, on any trail rides, at the barn or in front of guests, not to mention the illegal use of drugs or alcohol. Alcohol use must be descrete and after work hours only.
